The Kingsland Clinical Laboratory was established in 1949 to provide blood tests for all marital candidates.

It continued to function throughout the years providing blood tests for many marital candidates including a number of famous people.

The Original Kingsland Wedding Chapel was established in the early 1960’s to add to the convenience of couples coming to Kingsland, Georgia for a fast and efficient marriage at a reasonable price. The lab and chapel together put Kingsland, Georgia on the map as the place to get married.

Blood test requirements were eliminated by the state of Georgia in July 2003. Since then the Original Kingsland Wedding Chapel has continued to offer a marriage license and ceremony all in the same day.
